musictalks 2 Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 (edited) I have been using Emby for years on my Macmini M1 without issue. Since installing Emby server on my new macmini(M4) (I used the migration assistant to transfer my M1 apps and data), live tv playback has been throwing MediaBrowser.Common.Extensions.RemoteServiceUnavailableException error and on other occasions, 'no streams available' errors. If I restart emby server, I can get a short reprieve, but the error reoccurs after a short time. I'm using 2 x HDHomerun connect tuners. Also, I have removed emby server and downloaded a fresh copy and reinstalled. Any help would be appreciated. embyserver.txt Edited December 28, 2024 by musictalks added more details
Luke 42077 Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Hi, did you see this? Are you sure the tuner can be reached? 2024-12-29 06:48:16.035 Error HttpClient: Error getting response from http://192.168.50.101:5004/auto/v22 *** Error Report *** Version: 4.8.10.0 Command line: /Applications/EmbyServer.app/Contents/MacOS/EmbyServer.dll Operating system: Darwin 24.2.0 Darwin Kernel Version 24.2.0: Fri Dec 6 19:04:03 PST 2024; root:xnu-11215.61.5~2/RELEASE_ARM64_T8132 Framework: .NET 6.0.31 OS/Process: arm64/arm64 Runtime: Applications/EmbyServer.app/Contents/MacOS/System.Private.CoreLib.dll Processor count: 10 Data path: /Users/davidbayliss/.config/emby-server Application path: /Applications/EmbyServer.app/Contents/MacOS MediaBrowser.Model.Net.HttpException: MediaBrowser.Model.Net.HttpException: No route to host (192.168.50.101:5004) Perhaps try rebooting your HDHR tuner.
musictalks 2 Posted December 28, 2024 Author Posted December 28, 2024 Hi Luke. Yes, I have done that several times and restarted Embyserver. Again, that works for a short time, then throws up the error again. I have just downloaded 4.9.0.34 beta to give that a try. I'll reply in an hour or so if that has worked.
Luke 42077 Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Has your HDHR ip address changed? Maybe try giving it a static ip address in your router if you haven't done so already.
musictalks 2 Posted December 28, 2024 Author Posted December 28, 2024 I have static addresses for the embyserver and the tuners. It's been an hour and the beta seems to have solved my tuner issues. Normally, I get errors after one or two channel switches. I'm feeling positive about this now. I've used emby for many years and have found it to be continually evolving. Lurking around the community over the years has shown me many useful features. Even today, finding the subtitle options from the 3 dots. I'm glad to be a part of this growing community. On the server log page, the 3 dots don't show an option to download the file, only multi-file select. The 3 dots at the top-right show a blank dropdown. I have been locating the log files with finder.
musictalks 2 Posted December 28, 2024 Author Posted December 28, 2024 Back again. I spoke too soon. The error appeared when I tried to watch 3 different channels on 3 different devices. The 3rd device (an ipad) caused the error. (Latest log file attached) embyserver.txt
musictalks 2 Posted December 29, 2024 Author Posted December 29, 2024 I don't know if this matters, but I have the macmini M4 stand alone/screen shared to my iMac via ethernet switch. It's main job is a dedicated embyserver (static ip, port forwarding set on main router). I am running an ASUS XT8 WiFi mesh system with the macmini ethernet to the main router via switch. The 2 x HDhomerun tuners (static ip) are wired to a 2nd mesh router (stable WiFi backhaul). This system has been great for a year now on an M1 macmini ( I just replaced the mac to an M4 a week ago). All are running on Sequoia. When the error occurs, I shutdown Embyserver then relaunch. It all works on livetv for just over an hour before the error. At first I received 'No available streams' but now the 'MediaBrowser.Common.Extensions.RemoteServiceUnavailableException' error. I have Emby on my iMac, iPhone14 and iPad, 2 x appleTV's.
musictalks 2 Posted December 29, 2024 Author Posted December 29, 2024 (edited) Back again. Still throwing errors. restart embyserver works for a short time. Attached is the latest error log file. I think this is where the error is happening. musictalks 2 Posted December 30, 2024 Author Posted December 30, 2024 Well, it hasn't gone well, so I took a leaf from CMJR23 book and reinitialised (totally wiped) my M4. So far it's looking good. I'm still rebuilding my library, but live tv seems to be running smoothly again. 'Message to self' - When upgrading, always start with a clean, shiny new os. Thanks again to CMJR23 (sorry, I don't know how to link him in) Cheers 1
