How do metadata providers hierarchy work when there is empty data?

For my series library, i have TVDB first. In one instance there was no cast and crew listed for an episode on TVDB, but MovieDb(my second) did. I did have the data come through for cast and crew, so does it know to skip to a new provider when data is missing on the first one?

If so, is it all or nothing? Or does it check for each aspect - episode description, cast crew, and other various data points, and then move between each provider and pull data if available?

Also, for the refresh metadata every x days — does each item in the library have a date saved and independently search when that date comes?

Hi, yes it does.

No, it checks for each field of data.
