This is not at all media related but I will say that both are over rated stuck up idiots that were good soccer players once but they both have become so self centered that I think their poisonous personalities badly hurt any team they play for.
Messi did make a good move by effectively retiring to the less demanding MLS and I will not have to watch him as MLS has a ten year contract with Apple for video rights so MLS has become virtually hidden from me, and most US citizens, behind Apple's pay wall.

I love good robust soccer and neither of the lazy twins produce such soccer.

Now the mods here can move or delete this thread for being way of topic.

It was soccer in England as the word originated there. Here in the USA some people get confused when soccer is called football. I find it best to go with common usage in the world and soccer being called soccer is more "common" in the USA and that is where I live at this time.

Even extreme Eurosnobs do not misunderstand when you call soccer soccer. But many people in the USA misunderstand when soccer is called football. But, here in the USA gridiron football is also known as "Armored Sumo Wrestling" and it has become one of the three or four most boring sports in the world. One of the sports equally as boring is curling and curling is more exciting.

But this is NOT a sports forum at all. If you want to discuss this head over to Big Soccer as that forum is actually dedicated to soccer/football.

Football: the game where the ball is almost entirely controlled by your foot

American football: the game where the ball is carried in the hand 90% of the time

But isn't all sport this way? They do the same thing repeatedly. I'll never understand how anyone can watch people running around repeating the same actions for hours. They actually end where they began. No matter where they go, the parameters are always the same...deliberately! When someone 'wins', absolutely no progress is made. Nothing has changed. And then they go somewhere else and repeat, ad nauseum. Playing sport I can see may have health advantages, but watching? A person may as well go and watch traffic for a few hours...

Anyhoo.... :D
