4K Movies Will Not Work Anymore on my Roku Devices

Pretty much they never load and sit on the main image for the movie after the initial loading phase. The one Roku TV that does load it has it skips every 2 seconds. This is on two Roku Ultras and an Roku TV. It works fine on my S24 Ultra and laptop and everything was fine until about a few days ago. Attached are the logs I believe everyone needs. Please let me know if you need anything further. Thank you.

Is your "Video Quality" set to AUTO? Is your network somewhat busy? The AUTO setting might choose too conservative a value when your network is busy.

If you are using AUTO just raise your "Video Quality" to the maximum value. Then report back if your 4K movies are working again.

On the Emby homescreen of your Roku press the "star" button or navigate to the top of the screen and choose the gear/cog. Then choose playback settings and video quality is at the top.

That's an 80Mb/s item.  Are you sure it has always played smoothly?  What is the network connection?  Wired or wireless?

Switching from Auto to 4K worked perfectly. Thank you!

Well, it worked for one movie then skips and stops to load ra randomly. I am using a hardwire connection from the router to the computer with the drive and the Roku I am testing is hardwired to the router as well. Our internet is fiber 1gig up and down. I am off auto and on 4k 100mbs. Should be working fine id assume. Not sure why it stopped working so well a week ago or so.

I will watch a movie tonight on my LG TV to see if it skips, but it hasn't skipped ever.

  1. Roky connected via Ethernet cable direct to your router, or USB with an Ethernet adapter?
  2. Is there any Ethernet switch between the Roku and the router?  If so, what is the top speed of the switch?
  3. I assume the router supports 1 GB since you mentioned it handles fiber. And is the Ethernet port on the server also 1GB or is it an older version with slower speeds?
  4. Are the media libraries on the same drive as Emby server or do you use separate physical drives for media?
  5. Are there any other background scans running on the server?
