pclausen 44 Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 (edited) Do modern GPUs support CEC natively these days? I have a RTX 40470Ti Super in a PC with a X870 mobo and Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU. And I don't seem to be able to control Emby via my TV Remote. TV is a TCL 98QM851G. Receiver is a Denon AVR-X6800H. So everything is current gen stuff. I have Emby installed on the TV and it works pretty well over eARC to the receiver for lossless playback. But its a little buggy (skip forward 30 seconds will sometime freeze the Emby app to where I have to power cycle the TV). I know the PulseEight USB CEC Adapter exists, but is that really necessary in 2024? Also, I'm running 4k @ 120Hz and would prefer not have a dongle in my HDMI signal path if I can help it. softworkz 5066 Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 From my research, none of the GPUs currently support this. I have a Quadro RTX4000 and it doesn't even has HDMI plugs, only DisplayPort and the package included a DisplayPort/HDMI adapter. Even if models have an HDMI plug, it's probably just going through an internal adapter. I suppose the audience for this feature is rather small, and too small for them to implement it.
