KeithA 5 Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 I utilize TAG's for various reasons. In the past I have been pleased with how fast items are displayed. The new Windows app has made using TAG's unusable for me. Browsing them is extremely slow. When I first tried them I thought they just weren't working. However I noticed after a prolonged period they eventually populate on the screen. I was hoping the slowness would be only the first time loading them in however that is not the case. It is painfully slow for all tags each and every time. Clicking the tags in the web interface displays items almost instantly. Emby Theater also works just fine. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks
Chillout 110 Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 In my case, I have not experienced any differences in how tags are displayed for me using the new windows app. Browsing is just as fast as it was on Theater.

KeithA 5 Posted February 25, 2025 Author Posted February 25, 2025 Just to follow up on this. Tags still aren't working as they should in most cases. They have continued to work fine through the web interface in all cases. However, the Android app now has the slow browsing issue after a recent update. Although, they seem to work OK when using Android Auto. I have reinstalled the Apps with issues but the problem persists. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Rob_1969 13 Posted March 10, 2025 Posted March 10, 2025 i had a similar problem, my fix was to go to the server / library settings menu (3 dots) click refresh metadata, that made a big difference for me.

KeithA 5 Posted March 16, 2025 Author Posted March 16, 2025 Not quite sure what to show, its blank. I will try to describe it better.... When I enter my library I select Music. Once inside there I select the tags menu item. Upon selecting tags there are a number of tag groupings that I have created. These correspond to tags I have placed on certain playlists. When I click into one of them they are initially empty but after some time (minutes) they fill in. If I back out of them and go back in the same delay occurs. They used to work beautifully. Then they stopped filling in on different apps but the web interface continued to work fine. I updated Emby server to the latest version this morning and after that the web interface no longer fills in without a delay. Thanks

As of now Tags load OK on Android Auto (not the app or web interface on the same phone), and an Nvidia Shield that has an older version of Emby on it. Everything else is slow. It should also be noted that if I go to the playlist menu where all of my playlists are listed I can choose to filter out all but a specific tag and the resulting list is instantly displayed.
