Embodiment 28 Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 I apologize as this has been covered to some extent, but I still am not grasping purpose of the tab "Folders" that appears across the top alongside Movies, Suggestions, Trailers, Collection, Genres and Favorites. I THOUGHT it would open up the actual media locations like Windows Explorer does. IE. a hierarchy of directories and where you could dive into the media's actual physical location. This is an option I am looking for in Emby actually. It would at times be convenient to be able to see the actual media files in an explorer type environment from within Emby. For example, I use several Media Managers like Media Companion and TV Rename and if you right click on the media thumbnails, one option is to open directory where the movie is location on my NAS. I would love know if that option exists in Emby? But back to my direct post, when I click on Folders I see thumbnails just like under the Movies Tab. Just a few moved around a bit. Not seeing an benefit to it.
Luke 42078 Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Hi, it is intended to be a raw folder view of the media that has been imported into emby server. it won't list out every single file though. does that make sense?
Embodiment 28 Posted December 21, 2024 Author Posted December 21, 2024 When I picture a raw folder view, I guess I am thinking I would see an A-Z list of actual folders. IE. like below. Which is what I thought I would see. Instead I see thumbnails similar to what I see under the Movies tab.
Luke 42078 Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 HI, have you tried switching it to list view?
Embodiment 28 Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 Yes that helps! Not wanting to be a Christmas Grinch, but was hoping I could click on the list of items and actually get into the folder contents of that movie. I appreciate all your help. Your responsiveness has been amazing. Especially this time of year. 1
