KSMBD or http support

I have an emby server (docker) with 1 network drive added using samba v4.

I have another network drive with a near identical config using ksmbd, but emby can not detect the network share/drive.  This network drive can be connected using ksmbd or http(s) if needed.

My questions are can I add a library using ksmbd protocol or http(s) for basic read only connectivity and how?

ksmbd-server Version 3.5.1-2

Thanks,

Hi, all of Emby's smb support comes from here:

https://github.com/TalAloni/SMBLibrary

So step 1 would be getting them to add smb4 support. But can't you configure your drive to run on a lower version?

@LukeThe ksmbd server was compiled into the kernel so I would have to re compile everything from scratch.

I wanted to use the sambav4 library but that library was too large and the compiling process would run out of space and fail and using the ksmbd server library left me with 200kb free. I'm going to see if there is a way i can mount the http or ksmbd drive into the host OS since emby is running on docker.

Thanks for the info. I'll try and use that info but I don't think I have any recourse here. It sounds like it is dead in the water for me.

I tried several methods of trying to get http or ksmbd to work and all failed.  In the end, I ended up using sshfs to mount the network drive locally (since it has openssh installed for management) and mounting that folder in emby.  It's not ideal but it works so this topic can be closed.
