Hello!
I have been using IPTV for a while now, since yesterday my VOD listing is not showing up.
Its there in the M3U provided and shows up when I play it on VLC.
Please advise on how to troubleshoot this error.

Hi there, can you please provide a specific example? thanks.

The vod content is showing up my m3u Playlist editor while it's not showing up on my emby server.

It was working fine and no changes were made.

How did you import it into emby server?

Posted

Using the live TV section on the server settings. I paste the m3u and EPG. Just like I've been doing from the start.

OK i would try refreshing the guide data and seeing if that helps.

Already tried that as well. Still no change. It's still showing only the channels and not the video on demand categories.

As far as emby is concerned they are all channels. Do they each have unique tvg-id values in the m3u?

Yes they do. I just removed the entire live tv section on Emby.
Going to set it up from scratch.

Let us know how you get on. Thanks.

nope, still the same. redid everything from scratch.

Am starting to doubt the playlist editor now, if I use the original M3U it shows up all the VOD and channels. If I pass it through the editor, its skipping on the VOD content.
But, it used to work couple of days back.

I would check and see if there are duplicate tvg-ids in the m3u.

Yes. I did check for duplicates and am not seeing anything.

The problem with using the original m3u URL is that it has 70k channels which I don't need. Is there any other way that I can reduce the channels list within emby? To make sure I can see only the channels I want to see?

LOL, okay. Now am able to see the VOD Movies and not the VOD Shows.I didnt do anything different from the last time.

okay, so I tested out the same url from playlist editor into jellyfin and that shows all the selected channels.

so, the issue is not the playlist editor side but rather on Emby.

I did everything from scratch on a different Emby server and it works perfectly fine.
So going to move my media over and use this server.

Thanks for the help @Luke

This may sound familiar?

See 'Settings' > 'Users' > [user] > 'Access' tab & ensure user has permissions to access newly added content.

nope, I wasnt adding it as a .strm file. It was part of the M3U that the provider gave.
Also, am the admin of the server and I had default access to all the libraries. so I dont think this was it.
But thanks!

Fair enough. I found that VOD stuff didn't add well (in MY case) via M3U & went the STRM route w/ MUCH more satisfactory results. YMMV Good luck!

I normally recommend using m3u4u.com to condense your TV Channe list to just the countries, groups and channels you wish to add.  It also has bulk channel options you can use to do many things such as search/replace which is quite helpful if you want to remove "USA: " or "US: " from the beginning of channel names, etc

In a nutshell it will process your m3u file daily pulling it from your provider making the changes and having it ready for you to use in Emby.

m3u4u.com is free/donate.  There is also iptveditor.com which some people prefer instead, but it costs a few bucks a year.

If you would like, send me a PM (private message) with the info to pull your m3u and xml files. I'll set them up on a test machine to see what may be going on with the VOD content.
My guess would be the provider changed something that Emby responded to when loading content.

Anyway, I'd be happy to take a look at it for you.
