DurMonAtor 1 Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 (edited) Hi guys, I have looked in my logs of a TV show I'm streaming, and it was in MP4, with aac audio and h.264 video which according to the specs of the chromecast should be direct play compatible, but it isn't and it decides it should transcode it to vp8 for the video and vorbis for the audio, is there any reason for this? I have attached the transcode log for you to view, this is streaming from a windows server, via my iPad Mini to the Chromecast. If I stream from my laptop via chromecast it directly plays fine, copy's both audio and video, I have attached this log also. I also notice when I steam via iPad it say v 1.900, vet the laptop is v2.000, I believe this is the issue, but I'm not sure if it's something I have to do my end to switch the new version on? Thanks for the help. transcode-ce71bf9b-902b-4999-b3ac-9db3327cd6ad.txt transcode-49e11046-0a42-4f15-84b0-e6dda4820913.txt Edited November 19, 2014 by DurMonAtor
Luke 42078 Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 the iOS app doesn't use our latest chromecast receiver. the web client and android do. we are working on getting it updated.
