lightsout 156 Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 I have had an ongoing problem that has me totally confused. Often times when I am in another app on my Nvidia Shield, for instance Youtube, I will push "pause" and the video will pause and Metallica will start playing. The song is irrelevant, but it comes out of nowhere. When I go to recent apps and close everything the song persists. I found out that it was emby as I went into settings and started killing all the active apps. What 's really weird is I haven't listened to said metallica album, or even used emby for any music in months. This issue persists between reboots, power outages, basically if I use the pause button in some apps I never know if it is going to trigger emby playing music. How can I stop this, I finally heard it and was able to capture a log. embyserver.txt

Luke 42077 Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 HI, I've never seen this before. Is it repeatable?

But it has gone on for months, the other night (when the log was captured) my wife was using an app called vidangel. She repeated this twice. Press pause, music starts, pause again to stop it. She closed the app and started over with playback, then she hit pause again and it happened again. It is always this Metallica song lol, comes on super loud and is jarring. Idk what would happen if I let the song play out. Maybe there is only one song mysteriously queued and that would stop it. I'll see tonight if I can reproduce it again. 1

This just happened again, it has been happening more often lately, always the same track that somehow plays. It happened just now when pressing pause in Emby while me kids were watching as tv show.

Luke 42077 Posted January 28, 2025 Posted January 28, 2025 OK we have a new update beginning to roll out. Once you have that, please let us know how things compare. Thanks.

Thanks. Can't imagine there is something related to this in the fixes? Just hoping it goes away? I have both the apps installed on my Shield. I'd have to confirm in the log which app is actually playing the song.
