billbrown 1 Posted December 16, 2024 Author Posted December 16, 2024 I mean the Emby app is still kicking me out on my Roku device. I get on the Emby App, and in like 3 mins it kicks back to the roku homepage. It' was doing this a few days ago but had not been doing it since the 4.1.31 version was installed but When I got on this morning, it's doing the sane thing again

Can you give steps to reproduce the problem? We want to get to the bottom of this and solve it but so far cannot cause this type of crash that exits the app.

When I enter the emby app, everything works normal, for maybe a 1 or 2 mins, but after that, it kicks me out of the emby app and take me back to the roku home screen. It doesn't matter if I start watching a movie or just stay on the Emby home screen. After 1 or 2 mins of being on the emby app the screen just goes black and it kicks me back to the roku home screen screen.

Clearly, since the problem is not happening for the vast majority of users it is something local to your environment or something in the content you access. I really have no idea what the problem could be but an exact listing of your setup including exactly what you are doing and what your server setup is might be the first step toward a fix for you. Again see: Be sure to include all the server info and the exact server setup you use. It is something in your setup that is causing your problem and, most probably, not anything in Emby's code or functionality.

Paul Yes, it's only happening with the emby app and it worked fine for 2 days after they released the 4.1.31 version. All other apps are working fine. It just started kicking out after being on the app for 1 or 2 mins again this morning.

I had this same problem twice in November when I logged into Emby, it kicking back to my roku home screen after only being in the Emby app for 1 or 2 mins. I ended up resetting my Roku device back to factory settings and that fixed the problem for a 10 days to 2 weeks. I tried doing that again this time and it didn't fix the problem, it still kicks me out of the emby app back to the roku home screen after 2 mins .

It could be something your server is sending so you really do need to include server logs. Also what you describe is very much consistent with some intermittent signal issue in your network. But I am jus a simple user, like you, and the real experts will almost certainly need you to supply all the info found in: The problem you describe could be so many different things that I would not want anything like that to happen to me. I am getting very much too old to troubleshoot complex problems.

Then, the next time this happens, Re open the app and immediately select the "Send logs" option on your user menu at the top of the home page. Then come here and tell me exactly when you did that.
