Emby keep pause/play video when i touch video section!!

After updating to ipadOS 18.2, the video keeps pausing and playing whenever I touch the video. All other buttons work fine. These issues won’t affect iOS 18.2 on an iPhone.

Is this a feature or a bug?

I’ve recently discovered that the issue I had previously mentioned is also present in Emby on iOS 18.2 on an iPhone. However, the touchable area is less annoying.

For further reference I posted about this in reddit and was directed to this other form post. There is unfortunately not a solution in that post for this issue.

I ve encountered the same issue, which is a bit annoying. I believe this is a bug, cuz I ve never encountered it on previous iOS versions. (FYI, I am currently using iPhone 16 plus model) Luke, please help us!!!

Oh thank goodness this is a bug. I just set up an Emby server for the first time last week; downloaded the iOS app and thought this was the default behavior of the app. Having the video pause and play with every tap outside the play button was driving me mad

(Running the latest app on iPhone 16 Pro Max with iOS 18.2 )

I can confirm this behaviour (intentional or not) with the latest iOS Emby app update and iOS 18.2. As far as I know there is not yet a fix.

It is annoying because I tend to skip in a movie and know it keeps pausing the movie. I'm sure they will solve this issue.

I wonder what's triggering this, because on my similarly updated iPad I do not see this issue.

What iPad model are you using? iOS 18.2 has a bunch of new features, and most of them are about Apple’s AI.

True, although we can revert iOS version back to 18.1.x but the existed issue makes the Emby mobile app hardly usable. T_T

I hope those software engineers will fix this in further updates.

OTOH @Lukeit seems that now when I press the "Next Episode" button, the OSD doesn't come up and lock into place as it had been; but maybe the new behaviour is just hiding the old behaviour in this instance.

I cannot agree with you there, though; the issues I see are occasional irritations, but no worse than that.  I have no problems using this client constantly.

I’m having the same reported issues, both iPhone and iPad 18.2. Good to know it’s a bug, not critical - just a bit annoying. Perhaps while fixing Emby team can you look into shortening overlay menu display time, or moving it down the screen? It’s right in the middle of a screen, stays there for awhile after each use - that one is actually more annoying
