AngelSing 49 Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 (edited) Greetings, I’m experiencing the exact same issue. Some movies take a long time to resume playback and also have delays when trying to skip forward. I tried changing the encoding level from 4.1 to 4.0, but it didn’t improve anything. Regarding the audio, I usually work with AAC and AC3 formats, and I always convert EAC3 to AC3 before merging it with the video. However, even after encoding the movie shown in the image at level 4.0, the issue persists. It’s worth noting that this happens when playing the files locally. Interestingly, other movies with the same AC3 audio codec work just fine. In the end, I can’t figure out why this issue occurs with some movies but not with others. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks! @Luke I’m sharing a video where I show the playback of two movies encoded in the same way, both in audio and video. However, one of them takes a long time to resume playback, while the other does not. The movie with the issue is Harry Potter, while Assassin's Creed plays without any problems when resuming or skipping forward. I’ve attached the corresponding log for analysis. 11-12-2024_13-44-15.mp4 embyserver (1).txt Edited December 11, 2024 by AngelSing
AngelSing 49 Posted December 11, 2024 Author Posted December 11, 2024 @LukeI just noticed something: this issue only happens in the Edge browser. In the Windows and Android apps, playback works without any problems. This suggests the issue is specifically related to Edge. It could be caused by a browser extension, but if that were the case, it would affect all movies, and that’s not happening. Do you have any idea what might be causing this behavior?
Luke 42079 Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 You could try remuxing the mkv. Perhaps your file has a missing or corrupt seek index and the Edge video player doesn't tolerate that as well.
