emby server on a Synology - no EPG data

Hello emby community!

 

I have installed an emby server 4.8.8.0 on a Synology DS418play with the most current SW releases. My TV tuner is a homerun device HDHR3-4DC. Everything is working properly except EPG.

I am using the service of EPG.BEST and put their files (xml, m3u) as EPG data source into the emby server configuration. But emby does not show any EPG data

The log files shows that EPG data were found, but there is an error (see attached log file).

 

Can someone explain to me what is wrong here?

Did you check that your xml source is valid xml?

The xml file is pretty much empty. did you see that?

Yeah, but the m3u data contain all my channels. Maybe epg.best needs the xml file (?).

I also tried without the xml, only the m3u - but also no EPG data are shown.

Do you have an example of file / files I need - then I could try after editing them according to my needs

I have found that using the Emby built in EPGs based on your zip work best.  Given you have an HDHR I'd recommend trying to use those...

The m3u is just the channel list. the xml is where your guide data comes from.

yes I do have an HDHR receiver. I have tried the zipped file - also no EPG data

The one you attached here is empty. That is why you have no guide data. That means in emby server you should be seeing your channels from your m3u, but no data in the guide.
