Linux Server to Fire TV bitrate negotiation

I have noticed on linux server 4.8.10.0 which I think is latest - I"m getting a lot of unneccesary transcodes to emby fire tv clients. I tried doing a bunch of server side fixes as I have identical setup with older emby server. The fix I found was to set the client fire stick to max bitrate streaming = 1,000 instead of the default auto. Something has changed with how this process is negotiated from what I can see.

Hi. Which app are you using on the Fire TV?  What version?

And just out of curiosity now that I have you here. If I were to roll back to say emby-server 4.7.14.0 would that cause any issues? And could if not where could I find those downloads?

Okay.  Nothing has changed in how that app determines the proper bitrate setting.  I assume the device is on a remote network?

Yes - a multitude of them - unless you do a clean install.  We do not recommend going to an older version.

Yes they are on remote networks - although comes in through nginx but this is how I've always done it. Maybe the issue on server end? Any changes there. Its noticeable on this version. Lots of reducing bitrate for no reason. Or "correcting for playback errors" messages in server dash. But when you set to 1,000 everything green and direct playing.

Hi.  Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares?

Thanks.
