Cannot play video on many device (seems to be with transcoding)

Hello,

I have multiple video that when I try to watch them through web app or firestick (remotly), I get a message saying there's no compatible stream. It work fine when using my lg tv connected locally. It seems to be something with the transcoding although I tried other file with same encoding and they are working.

On my lg, if I force to transcode, it still work.

At least this example appears to be something with the excessive 44 subtitile tracks and yes some client choke on this issue.  Not sure if devs have really come up with a workaround.

So I guess the question becomes is only a issue with media with excessive subtitle track?

That'S weird, I only have 4 subtitles track:

could it be that the metadate doesn't match the file? I do have a program that scan all my files and remove subtitles (and other track) that I don't want. I think maybe what's happening is it doesn't match the real file behind? The filename isn't change when only subs are modded

Possibly Emby has not seen that update and could explain the somewhat crash/exit as fileinfo shows index 0-43 for subs but can not list them.

Can you Refresh metadata on this example and then see if it will play?

But will guess whatever program you are modifying the file with is not leaving any trace it the file was updated and Emby does not see it was updated.

So in the end you will have to "Touch" every file again for Emby to see a new Modified timestamp and reprobe for change.  Or if whatever you are using to remove subs can do this or you may need to preprocess files before Emby sees them.

Well, it does leave a new timestamp and a reduced file size since I removed 40 subtitles track. I'll see on next time this happen if just a simple scan file fixed it.
