Cannot adjust playback speed on tablet

Recommended Posts

Hello!

Premiere here, not sure if it makes any difference but anyhow.

I am unable to adjust playback speed, but *only* when playing back on my Xiaomi 6 pad. When I play the same video files on my Pixel 7 Pro I can always adjust it. I don't use transcoding, quality is always direct/auto, in the same LAN, same conditions.

Am I missing something I should look at?

Thanks!

3.4.20 .

That's really odd because it should be there in the menu. Is it not?

You mean the speed menu? Yes it's there, but choosing any value does nothing, it always plays back at 1.0x

Are you sure it is direct playing?

I'm not sure it actually does so, but I'm sure that's the option I have selected (always)

OK . Let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

Let me check tonight, because laser night a plugin was updated and I restarted my server, and I saw it fast forwarding for the first time! So I'll see if it persists.

What is the audio format?  Bitstreamed codecs (DD, DTS, etc.) cannot be speed adjusted without transcoding.

Yeah I know, but:

-although I haven't checked, this has been the case with lots of different files, there's bound to have been one that would be doable

-same files could be sped up on my phone.

They may have been going through ffmpeg.

We'll have to look at a specific example to know for sure.

But as I said in OP,  same conditions and settings everywhere, and always Direct...

Some of the  apps can direct play but mix down a track internally so that it can be speed adjusted.

A specific example will remove all speculation though.

Just confirmed it's changing speed now, maybe the server restart indeed helped.

Tomorrow I'll try to locate one of the files that presented the problem.
