What exactly did you do? <RemoveSortWords /> or <SortRemoveWords></SortRemoveWords> Shutdown Emby change system.xml, start Emby and Refresh metadata.

I turn off emby, edit the xml and emby no longer starts

No, this generally just means the hand editing resulted in malformed xml. It's a good idea to run it through an xml validator before trying to start the server.

I hope you can give me some joy and incorporate it into the emby control panel in the next version.
