Movie certification and parental

Hi, i have all my movies certifications / parental control based on US standards (PG, R etc.)

when i wanted to restrict some movies for some users based on certification, the different levels in the user / parental control section are based on swedish standards. is there a way to get US certifications displayed there too?

Is the server libraries default setting for certification set to Swedish?

The setting is here

There is also a setting to override this default at the Library level

 

I think there is room for improvement here. If one adds a library with different certification country than the default, then these should be merged with the default set when setting up parental controls. I will raise this with the development team - but if it does get implemented, it means that you would need to have at least one US Certification library to have both the default swedish set and US set visible

Thanks! I have found the settings now and strangely they were set on a third country...

I have made some changes and che ked directly after and things did not seem to have been updated, maybe it takes some time.

Will check again in the coming days, i just did the changes from the android app, will check when i will have more time and with a bigger screen. Will report on how things go

I did a test with default being US and a library set to Poland and the polish certification values did not show in the drop-down for the user parental control setting

That would be do to there being no PL index in Emby so it still shows US values.  Change to say German or the OP Sweden and you will see a change.

Really depends on what OP want.  Do you still want your country MPAA value shown on content?

By default Emby will use the Library-Advanced value globally, then you can edit per library or per item to a different value. 

But changing Library-Advanced Country Certificate should change your Parental controls list.

I saw i had the certification countries in the library advanced settings to swedish i saw, just changed that to US.

i just checked a user and the permissions are now based on MPAA, just what i wanted; thx a lot

@guill69f FYI in 4.9.0.34 Emby Server beta, the libraries certifications are consolidated now in the drop-down. This is example of a server with US, UK, Sweden and French certifications configured for libraries
