sabayon 10 Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 (edited) Hello everyone. In the "Series" directory I have a "Documentations" folder. Individual documentaries are stored there, but also multi-part documentaries. I like to put the latter together in its own subfolder. Sometimes Emby creates a separate folder for individual documentaries and names it, for example, "Season 19" for no apparent reason. There is no “Season 18” or any other folder I created with any season number. All attempts to get rid of these folders failed. After a few minutes, such subfolders appeared again and individual documentation ended up in them randomly. Furthermore, Emby randomly "creates" folder names or renames files without it being clear to me where this information could come from. How can you resolve this? Thanks very much in advance for your advice. Edited December 7, 2024 by sabayon
Luke 42077 Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 HI, this is just how TV series work in Emby. Episodes always belong to a season. Here's a couple suggestions: In your emby user display settings, you could set your preferred episodes layout to just showing all episodes on the series screen without the season layer Or just put this series in a home videos library instead Please also see TV Naming

Will guess naming scheme or misidentification but need to see the full structure and naming. But as Luke mentioned Emby looks for Seasons within all TV Shows/Series. 1 1

Within the Series category, I'm very happy with how it works since you explained to me how the naming conventions work.

I think you have to decide what's best. Just know that TV libraries do have some file naming requirements. 1
