I am waiting for the app with impatience too. I missed joining the beta... 

I tried join 3 weeks ago but they said is too late because release is very close... 

Now 3 weeks later still no release and new betas come up.... I guess there are still issues..

The issue right now is just getting it through the store review process. No reason that should take a long time, but that part of things can be unpredictable.

Yep just updated.  Now I just need to figure out why is does nothing but launch the exe.

Loaded fine on win10 so it must be the insider win11 issue with 24H2 in other topic.

So i have updated it....But i am kind of disappointed from Xbox version...It is much worse that the old version....

The problems:

- Design have no change. Nothing similar to the youtube clip that was shown before  

- HEVC movies doesn't play (it was played just fine with the app version 1.x)!!!!!!!!

- Audio have no passthrough....The AVR doesn't even detect DTS, DD+ and so on audio types

- Subtitle settings not work at all. Subtitles are always shown white with black background and very small...That was working before.

What is good:

- Unfortunately nothing is better...Only regression...

 

For me that is disaster...I can not play my library anymore on Xbox Series X

Hmmm HEVC work fine on older app. Also work fine on recent Plex app....So unfortunately the new app is a disaster....

But is not only the HEVC the problem.... Most of the stuff just not work in new app...

Yes this will be a nightmare with the regression per the approved store version as it will update the original version.

Will try.. but it cannot be used fro me without HEVC support.

 

Is it possible to skip the welcome screen on XBOX or remove it like on Windows?.. It is taking very long time.

Not possible to install older version of the apps from the store....Especially on Xbox....

So is it only the XBOX app that has the HVEC issue or also the Windows APP?

The Xbox one imho....Windows one can always use software transcoding on PC side (not server side).

But using Windows app is not a solution for me.... Now stuck with not playable library

Most of my videos are HEVC!

It is the same version ie App Store version as MS reject that part of the app per the linked topic with MS Reply.

Currently, requests for HEVC playback are being rejected due to bandwidth constraints. 

The owning team has confirmed that they currently do not accept HEVC playback requests. However, they are planning to revisit this subject early 2025, and your request has been added to the waitlist.

Yes Windows version ie 3.0.20 is a Windows install where this App Store version is available to all Windows and XBox also.

But a PC/Desktop user should really be using the desktop version not that app store version, but it is still your choice.
