Subtitles - problem?!

Good afternoon,
I have Emby Server on my PC.
On the LC C4 TV, i can access the files that are on my PC.
Files without subtitles run perfectly. But... when i choose a subtitle, the movie stops, everything goes black and it doesn't go forward.
Has this ever happened to anyone here?
Thanks

What type of subtitles are you using?  If they are PGS, then the server will need to transcode and burn into the video.  How successful this is depends on your server.

Better if you can use the subtitles feature to download text based subtitles and use them as it will avoid the transcoding.

Its files with embedded subtitles. Só many languages. But on the media player off the TV, i haven't that problem.

I think I'm sending the logs correctly.

In the meantime, i opted for the following:

- I use «FFmpeg-GUI 3.3.2» (Clever FFmpeg GUI) - I choose «Multiplex» and create a new file with just video and audio.
Then, I place the external subtitle with the same name as the video file, in the same folder. Attention: Not recommended for Dolby Vision files (Profile 5).I think this program does the same thing as MKVToolNix.

Most important of all: a video can have several embedded subtitles, but if we don't choose any of the embedded ones, but rather one of the external ones, emby reads them without any problem.

Thanks

Subrip files are larger image based subtitles that need to be burned into the video with transcoding.  I don't think there another way to show these files.

However, you can convert them to .srt files.  Pick an online convertor of your choice.

 https://duckduckgo.com/?q=subrip+to+srt+convert&ia=web
I've used the first in the list successfully.
 https://subtitletools.com/convert-to-srt-online

Also, if you have multiple audio or video options in one media page, you can clean up and shorten the names that appear in your pull down choice, by adding a dash, the resolution and then a word or two of the type of media.

filmName - 1080P Director's cut.mkv

filmName - 1080P.mkv

Subtitles can be:

filmName - 1080P Director's cut.en.default.srt

That subtitle would only appear when you chose the Director's cut.

Hope that helps.
