GARY_TV 1 Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Hi there I have three Synology NAS and I'm in the process of migrating content to EMBY. I've installed the app on a Firestick and all good with 1st NAS, I can see content on my TV as expected. Now I'm adding content to the 2nd but I can't figure out how to view that one + content as well via the Firestick app. I was hoping it would be relatively easy to add all three then tab between them as needed. Any help appreciated
GARY_TV 1 Posted December 6, 2024 Author Posted December 6, 2024 Hi Here's a couple of screenshots. With the first NAS only running, once I'd installed the Emby app in both places I could log in via the Firestick and view library as expected. Then I booted up second NAS and began migrating content; but I'm not seeing any login or view library options as I did previously.
GARY_TV 1 Posted December 6, 2024 Author Posted December 6, 2024 What I'd really like to be able to do is this: which doesn't seem to be a feature, yet? In the meantime I'd like to be able to see how toggling between more than one device works in practice; but now I'm suspecting that's not going to be possible without subscribing to Emby Premiere?
Carlo 4560 Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Hi, To access content from all three, you'll need to: Configure each NAS/Emby Server independently: Make sure each Emby Server is set up correctly, with its own libraries pointing to the local content. Add each Emby Server as a remote server: In your FireStick Emby client, add each NAS's Emby Server as a separate remote server. You'll need the IP address and potentially the server name or user credentials for each. The Emby app should have a setting to add a remote server. You won't see a combined library of the 3 NAS boxes, (sounds like you know this), instead, you'll have separate instances of each server in the app, one for each server. You switch between them by selecting the different remote server from the app's main menu. This setup requires managing multiple Emby instances, which is inherently more complex than a single Emby server with multiple libraries.
GARY_TV 1 Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 Hi Carlo Thanks for the detailed response, very helpful. 1
