Tony5104 0 Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 I added a TV tuner card to my emby server, and that works fine. My problem is the program guide isn't showing anything. I've searched through the forums and tried setting the zip code to less tha n10 miles from the TV towers but still nothing. What am I missing?

On the Settings for Live TV, you went through Guide Data Sources and Add Guide Data Source and selected a country from the drop-down and then picking Emby Guide Data and on next screen entering zip code and then picking a lineup from the drop-down? Is this OTA or Cable? The countries that have Emby Guide Data are USA, UK and Canada - otherwise you would have to use an XMLTV source See https://emby.media/support/articles/Live-TV.html Edited December 5, 2024 by sa2000
Tony5104 0 Posted December 5, 2024 Author Posted December 5, 2024 I did all the setup, its OTA and in the US

Tony5104 0 Posted December 5, 2024 Author Posted December 5, 2024 I tried both my local zip code, and one from the same city as the towers are in, and chose local over the air broadcast from the dropdown
sa2000 674 Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 without an actual zip code and exact lineup name i cannot check if there is an issue with the guide Does the tuner show all channel numbers and channel names correctly ?
sa2000 674 Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 (edited) anyway - you could download the server logs and attach here - the logs covering the time of adding the guide See https://emby.media/support/articles/Log-Files.html you could enable debug logging beforehand Edited December 5, 2024 by sa2000
Tony5104 0 Posted December 5, 2024 Author Posted December 5, 2024 I used my zip code of 56303 and the Minneapolis zip code of 55401, and chose local over the air broadcast from the dropdown. I'm at work so I can't attach the log files right now
Tony5104 0 Posted December 5, 2024 Author Posted December 5, 2024 It added the scheduled task and tried to download the program guide for about 1.5 seconds
Tony5104 0 Posted December 5, 2024 Author Posted December 5, 2024 Ok, I just noticed none of the channels are mapped, I did one manually and it works fine. Do I have to do that to all 60odd channels manually?
Luke 42079 Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 What type of tuner do you have? Usually they map automatically but sometimes we see users with channel names and numbers from the tuner that don't match up.
sa2000 674 Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 (edited) @Tony5104If you look in the Emby Server App data folder in sub-folder livetv - there will be a json file holding the channel details provided by the tuner with numbers and titles = filename would be "tuner_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx_channels" - suggest you copy that file out and browse to see what channel numbers are being set by the tuner There would be an equivalent json for the EPG channel numbers and titles - file named "listings_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx_channels" - again to ensure you do not lock the file out, just copy it out and look at it offline Edited December 11, 2024 by sa2000
