sezsat 1 Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 (edited) Hi everyone, I hope someone can help with this. We’ve noticed an issue where new games we upload don’t automatically show up in Emby unless we manually scan the library. A few months ago, new uploads would appear in just seconds or within a minute. Does anyone know what could be causing this change? the Real time monitoring is enabled in the library settings. It's just suddenly not working anymore. Also, we’ve observed another issue: when uploading new .nfo and .jpg files, they don’t reflect properly on our Ubuntu server, but they show up fine on our Microsoft server. Any idea why this might be happening? Would really appreciate any insights! Thanks in advance! Edited December 3, 2024 by sezsat
Luke 42077 Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Hi there, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks.
sezsat 1 Posted December 4, 2024 Author Posted December 4, 2024 Good Day Luke! An example we are uploading the "2024 Nov 02 NFL Denver Broncos vs Cleveland Browns" inside is the "1st Half 2024 Nov 02 NFL Denver Broncos vs Cleveland Browns" and "2nd Half 2024 Nov 02 NFL Denver Broncos vs Cleveland Browns" This is the main folder: this is inside of the folder: This is in the emby Server. It's been almost 20 minutes since the folder was created and the 1st Half was uploaded, but still not refelcting on the folder. If the new upload is not showing we are doing "Scan Library" On Scanning library the "Sports Recordings" library, we also notice that even there's no ongoing scanning library in othee libraries, the Sports Recoridng scanning not playing, i will wait atleast 1minutes if will scan but still not scanning. So i will scan again, but sometimes it will takes 4 times "Scan Library" to scan to be iniated. So, once the scan library is done. The new uploads will now reflected. Is there any possible reason causing this? As we want that all new uploads will be refelcted real time and no need for scanning the library. Thank you for your help! Muuch appreciated. For the Logs: will attached here: embyserver.txt
sezsat 1 Posted December 4, 2024 Author Posted December 4, 2024 Additional Information: the folder was saved on the QNAP TS-hEC2477XU-RP firmware version: h4.5.4.1817 The Settings of the Library: The Real time monitoring is not working
sezsat 1 Posted December 4, 2024 Author Posted December 4, 2024 @Luke To test, I created new server add library, all new upload are automatically reflected. But on the original server, new uploads doesn't reflect even 20minutes passed unless we will scan the library
Neminem 1518 Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Ok you are using smb shares those are really hard or can't be RTM detected. What happens if you mount that share at OS level and grant Emby app access to the mounted share.
Luke 42077 Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Correct, when you use the smb protocol it is not supported. Instead, mount the network path to a local path using the tools in your host OS. Then import that local path into Emby Server. This is all dependent on what INotify supports, so that doesn't guarantee it will work but it gives you a better chance.
sezsat 1 Posted December 6, 2024 Author Posted December 6, 2024 Thank you @Neminem& @Luke, we will check this and will do some workarounds. Can I also ask, what's the better recommended server for Emby? Windows? Ubuntu? Rocky Linux? As we're thinking of rebuilding it again for better condition.
