podonnell 47 Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 I had a Library with a single entry of: D:\Library Inside that, I have two folders: D:\Library\Clips D:\Library\Demos I previously had the location of the library set to D:\Library, and when I would view the Library, I would see the two folder names when I was in 'Folders' view (default). I recently had a need to separate the permissions of these two folders, so I now have two entries in the Library, one for Clips and one for Demos. The adverse effect that I'm now experiencing is that all of the data appear in a single view when I am in Folder view. It no longer shows "Clips" and "Demos" folder for me. I think I could fix this issue by making an extra folder, such as D:\Library\Clips\Clips\ and put all data there, but I would like to not have to do that. Is there anyway I can see these folders individually listed instead of all content some other way?
podonnell 47 Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 One thing I see in settings is: Two questions on this: 1) I would need to add each folder into its own Collection, and that may change the display to how it was when the library was a single entity with two folders? 2) Do people who don't have access to one of these Libraries still get to see the name of this collection?

Hi I personally wouldn't suggest this as it's not what collections was made for. Probably the ideal thing is for us to add an option to control the folder view. That doesn't help you today though obviously.

I've had to temporarily make double folders to get the view that I'm looking for. So: D:\Library\Clips\Clips D:\Library\Demos\Demos Now shows me two folders when my Library has both of these individually set. I agree the best path forward would be to have an option to display folders within libraries. 1
