Change into skip button

Heyho

Idk if its client or server based, so just posting here:

Is it possible to change to appearance of the "skip intro" button? Maybe also it's position (in the very corner for example and make the font grey without a background) 

Reason: it's bright as hell sometimes I want to watch the intro, sometimes I want to skip it, therefore disabling the feature is not an option (great feature!)

If it's possible to edit the install files on the server or the android client I just need the information where to find the config

HI, if you want to disable it, you can do that in the app playback settings.

Which client ?

On the Android client, 'brightness' is a common complaint (not just Introskip message, but ALL OSD text..) - agree on HDR/OLED screens it's totally distracting - especially in a dimmed room.  In a cinema room (blackout), it absolutely horrendeous as it lights the room !

The AndroidTV client has this just right - bright enough to be noticed/read but dim enough not to cause a 'glare' or unwanted distraction.   It's on the list of 'conversion' issues that's been on the list for the last 2+ years ...

It's a android tv TV client (nvidia shield) and a 77" philips oled. This thing turns into a spotlight

 

Okay so for now using the android tv client ist the only "solution"?

You would think that a 'theme' would be the way to solve this - but alas no - themes basically do very little other than change the colours.

A 'cinema' theme would be perfect, where it simply tones down the intensity ...

yeah like this. or give us an option to edit the colours + alpha of the button. that would be great

i mean there must be some sort of config (hopefully) where the values are defined. or is it hardcoded?

Personally, I don't think you should have to make a specific theme choice to address this.  The app should just tone-down all of that bright stuff when in TV display mode.

sure, why not.

 but i personally dont care if its done "right" or i get the option to change it the way i want (which i would always prefer tbh)

But that would restrict your theme options.  If you had to choose a "cinema" (or any specific) theme in order to address this deficiency in the app then you would always have to use that theme.  Maybe you want the Blue Radiance theme look but you can't have it because of this issue.

good point. i mean i would like an option that influences its appereance directly. but even if, still better than as it is right now
