LittleKinder 15 Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Hello there, This is new and never happened until a few days ago When watching content I am seeing those weird sparks/pixels as seen below. This doesn't happen when using VLC to watch the exact same content stored in the exact same location, this is happening on my movies and tv shows (which are stored on different hardrives) I included the server logs, this is arcane season 1 episode 2 if this can help pinpoint in the logs Let me know if you need more informations for this. Thank you embyserver.txt
Luke 42077 Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Hi, that's really odd. @generiqhave you seen this before?
Guest Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Well, it's libmpv with dxva-copy, tone-mapping HDR at 120Hz. Honestly, there's really no point in trying to diagnose this. By the time I figure it out, the new app will be released and it'll be redundant. Hang in there a few more days and the new app will be out. If the issue arises in that, then we can diagnose what's happening. And no, I haven't seen that before. Most likely a tone-mapping glitch.
LittleKinder 15 Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 Thank you Will do, it's indeed a new bug as I never had this issue before (even when watching the same content). Hopefully the new app will fix it.

LittleKinder 15 Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 I have no idea but I do not see this issue on VLC. Will check when I get home tonight

It's just that the new app will handle this much better. If your display is not HDR, look in the new settings for tone mapping and select bt.2446a. That will give you a better picture. And if your display is HDR (there is an automatic switch in the app), you're in for a treat.
Guest Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 @LittleKinder until then, in the settings, try changing video output to gpu-next.
