Jamesd30 1 Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 I was adding a new library to my server. I have a bunch of libraries that are under the F drive on on server. When I was creating the new library I accidentally set the path of the new library to F:\ instead of the correct path. I added a second entry that was the correct path and deleted the F:\ entry but now all libraries that are on the F:\ drive show no files in them. All other libraries on other drives of the server are fine. I have rescanned the files on the server but it has not corrected the problem. I have deleted the library entirely that was created that caused the problem too but I have sill been unable to get the other libraries to display their content. Any help on updating the database to correct this issue would be appreciated.

Luke 42079 Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 Hi there, how many Emby libraries do you have now, and what folder paths are added to each one?
Jamesd30 1 Posted November 29, 2024 Author Posted November 29, 2024 On that drive I have 95 unique libraries. Each library has a single subdirectory associated with it. For Example F:\Air Wolf, F:\Are You Being Served etc.
Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 (edited) That is not at all how libraries are normally set up. Usually one library contains a large number of movies and you then further organize using collections and playlists and simple genre filters. There is no need for so many libraries and it just makes using Emby harder. I suggest that you first reorganize your drives so that you have a more normal flow and you then remove a existing libraries and recreate new ones with one or two containing movies and one or two more containing TV shows and from there you create collections or play lists as needed. BTW: Except for live TV I do not recommend mixed content libraries as I have had nothing but problems trying to use such. Of course you are quite free to do as you wish but using a complex library structure with a myriad of libraries is just asking for problems. I have over 4000 movies and over 43,000 TV episodes and nearly 1000 pictures and a few audio files and i only have 6 libraries and i have no problem finding or playing anything. Collections are your friend. As far as your problem goes: I am not surprised with that huge number of libraries that you have problems. Also a library can have multiple directories in it and you need to be sure libraries do not overlap. Edited November 29, 2024 by Gilgamesh_48
Jamesd30 1 Posted November 30, 2024 Author Posted November 30, 2024 (edited) Thanks for the suggestions on how to reconfigure the setup to optimize Emby so it is more efficient. My original question, which still applies in this case too. Is there a way to correct the database if you screw up and put files into two libraries which is not allowed? Jamesd30 1 Posted December 3, 2024 Author Posted December 3, 2024 We have a winner! Not only did it fix it, it also remembered if the item was played. 1
