arrbee99 1815 Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Why is it when I search for an actor, say Hugh Grant, I get this - - where are his movies (of which I have 17) ? The answer is click on the Actor. Intuitive is not the word I would use.

Granted, maybe there could be an additional section included below Top Results which would present linked content in case of a person, but that content is already a single click away so that inclusion might be of a limited value. arrbee99 1815 Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 All perfectly valid, but as a simple user, I'm not looking the 'a term', I'm looking for an actor so I want info about the actor or more likely, what have I got in a media server thats got Hugh Grant in it, which is pretty likely to be 'what have I got that he's in', hence, IMHO, it should show me stuff he's in, without more clicking. I'm mentioning it cause i was looking in the 'Why does Emby make it so difficult to discover media?' thread and the ease (or not) of finding stuff.
Carlo 4561 Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 Where were you at when you performed the search? Try going back to the first screen and do a search. See if everything shows up that way. If you're in a specific section, such as people, and do a search, I believe it's only going to search people, if you're viewing movies and do a search, it's only going to find movies, etc. If your not in and specific view like at the home screen and do a search, you'll find everything. Give that a try, Carlo

Intuitive is not the word I would use. Provider sites do the exact same thing. Where can you search a Name/Title and get everything said person was in without having to select said person? Your search term is for content with that parameter within its TITLE.
arrbee99 1815 Posted December 20, 2024 Author Posted December 20, 2024 The first post picture was from the first ((Home) screen. It shows, for example a Movie, which has his name in the title, and a chat show, which has his name under Details (?). I just don't see anything intuitive about having to click the fifth from the right to see his Movies just because its category Person.

arrbee99 1815 Posted December 20, 2024 Author Posted December 20, 2024 Logically correct no doubt, but to me not what I want to see. You might possibly replay, howz Emby supposed to read my mind, and yes I have trouble with that as well, but to me, from an ease of access point of view, the contents of what you get when you click on the fifth item from the right should appear on the first screen. But its not a biggie...
