Luke 42077 Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 If you come across is happening again for a new episode, then if you can catch it close to when it happens, then we should be able to track it down. 1
Solution Whitepyro 2 Posted November 30, 2024 Author Solution Posted November 30, 2024 (edited) Found the source of the issue. In regards to "Latest TV shows" and ones showing that shouldn't. For some reason or another, the episodes that WERE showing somehow were locked specifically to a certain MPAA rating. Once I released the lock and updated the metadata it resolved and removed. While that resolved that, it would make you wonder why it didn't show up under the tv shows area it self.. Oh well.. 4.8.10.0 is good now. I did find one more thing too. Nothing to big i suppose, but i resolved it. 2 tv shows were merged together because they were misclassified, Goosebumps 1995-1998 tvdb "78790" and goosebumps 2023 tvdb "415840" were stuck together.. Even though they're in seperate directories, clearly labeled by the year for the newest one. By applying the old shows id, it finally split them as it should've. Good times. Thanks for your help boys. Edited November 30, 2024 by Whitepyro 1

This comes up a lot as there is I believe a change that happened at TVDB as Episode have rating and the Series inherits from Episodes. So the only way for a episode to inherit from a Series level is if episodes have no rating. Otherwise Emby honors the episode rating or even custom rating. Why users have created scripts like this.

Do we not just exclude the episodes that are at a higher rating than the parental control setting for the user? Does it actually affect the series as a whole? I have not looked into what heppens in such cases

We don't yet know where this G rating is coming from, so that's what we need to learn so that you can stop that from happening. So for now I would use the metadata editor to blank out the rating for those episodes. The "G" is within the parental control setting for the Kids account - "TV-Y/APPROVED/G/E/EC/TV-G" On 29/11/2024 at 22:25, Whitepyro said: With 3 shows that I've listed prior, the parential rating of said episode has changed from being assigned by the nfo files, TV-14 or otherwise, to somehow a G for a specific episode. Is it not the "TV-14"s that are causing the episodes not to show for the Kids account. If that is all we are excluding then surely we are correct in excluding episodes that are deemed higher rating?
