Supacat 3 Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Hi all, Got a weird one. When I play a collection, it will play the first movie in the collection but if I select the next movie, it plays the theme.mkv movie in the backdrops folder and then craps out with an error. Anyway to have Emby ignore the theme.mkvs in the backdrops folder when playing a movie collection? Thanks for the help
Luke 42077 Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 Hi, that's strange. @Happy2Playare you able to reproduce?
Solution Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 27, 2024 Solution Posted November 27, 2024 14 minutes ago, Luke said: Hi, that's strange. @Happy2Playare you able to reproduce? Yes there is a bug in 4.8 with selecting Play in Collections and the queue adding trailers and themes and maybe more. Do not see this behavior in 4.9 but believe there is another topic on this. 1 1
Luke 42077 Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 Yes that's right I do recall making a fix related to this in 4.9. 1
Supacat 3 Posted November 27, 2024 Author Posted November 27, 2024 (edited) First off, thanks so much for the help guys! @Luke & @Happy2Play So, just for more details. I am on your newest Synology (DSM 7.2+) version which comes up for me as Version 4.8.10.0. Are you saying to upgrade to beta 4.9 or just hang tight and wait for an official to be released? I have been a Emby Premier member for over 10 years and this only just started happening recently (within last 4-6 months) so thanks for confirming I wasn't going crazy . I WinSCPed in last night and deleted my whole collection folder along with every collection and did a rescan only to find it still happen after the rebuild of Collections when I woke up so felt major defeat lol until I saw your response! Below, is how my Up Next looks which next looks which is exactly what @Happy2Play described. It is queuing up everything in the folder rather than just the movies in the collection. If you want immediate solution, then yes you can upgrade to beta but note you cannot downgrade due to database changes, so you have to stay on beta until version release. But @Lukewould have to comment if this can easily be ported into a 4.8.xx.x maintenance release. Edited November 27, 2024 by Happy2Play 1

I have already gone down the beta route before and rather stay on your stable version or any approx estimate on when we will see a 4.9 stable? Many thanks!

If there are still plans for Smart lists in 4.9 I will guess not anytime soon as we still haven't got anything new in 4.9 that came out in Feb when 4.8 was released. 1
Supacat 3 Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 @Happy2PlayJust an update. I upgraded to the beta and happy times are here again. Collections are working again! I really appreciate you taking the time to help and have a happy happy Thanksgiving! 1 1
