Is there any way to exclude genres?

On the tv/movie pages, I want to exclude a specific genre, e.g Reality/Comedy. I can specify genres to include, but not exclude.

There is a plugin called Genre Cleaner that might do what you want. It can replace any genre with any other or remove any genre from your entire library.

Be sure to read about it before you install it as some of it actions are somewhat "extreme."

but that will just help in cleaning up metadata. it doesn't help on the client side where I want to filter/choose something.

But if a given genre is not in your library it will not get displayed. I do not know if that will or will not work for you.

I did not say that would do what you want, I said it might.
I have never seen anything that filters genre at the client level either by user or by section. Of course I have never looked for anything like that either.

In Emby you can filter by things like genre/tag/year etc on client side, this has been there forever. it is a very useful feature.

Your suggestion is very helpful as I was not aware of that plugin, so thanks for that. I hope there is a way to implement what I need on client as well?
