Ninho_NO 0 Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 (edited) Hello Emby Community, I hope you're all doing well! I’m currently facing a situation with my Emby setup and would appreciate your insights or suggestions. Here’s the context: I maintain a shared library that combines content stored on my personal hard drive and additional files hosted in the cloud. While this setup works perfectly for streaming and organizing, it becomes challenging when I need to use features like Video Preview Thumbnail Extraction. Running this process for the entire library takes a significant amount of time and consumes a large amount of bandwidth due to the cloud-based content. Because of this, I’d like to know if there’s a way to enable Video Preview Thumbnail Extraction for just a single series instead of applying it to the entire library. Here’s what I’ve tried so far: Clicking the three-dot menu for the series and selecting options like Update Metadata or Refresh Metadata, but this doesn’t seem to trigger thumbnail generation. Checking the library settings to confirm that Video Thumbnail Generation is enabled. Unfortunately, these approaches haven’t helped narrow the task to a specific series. I’m looking for a more targeted way to generate thumbnails without affecting the rest of the library. Has anyone encountered a similar situation? Is there a workaround or specific method I could use to generate video preview thumbnails for a single series? Edited November 24, 2024 by Ninho_NO
Neminem 1519 Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 I would split you library, in 2. Local and offsite. Local enable Video Preview Thumbnail Extraction. Offsite disable Video Preview Thumbnail Extraction. Its all or nothing all library level.
