True and that cheapens the purchases made by users that have made earlier purchases at the full price. 

I wish companies would simply price their stuff at a fair (to all) reasonable rate not slap the face of those that purchased earlier. 

Yes i take advantage of discounts when offered but I do not think that lowering prices for a short time is good for either the consumers or the companies involved. 

There are parts of capitalism that are just examples of "wrong thinking." It seems that throughout capitalism the Ferengi rules of acquisition are used a lot. In particular the rule that states "Greed is eternal."

I hope we can get a nice little gift for Black Friday.
It would be a nice incentive to buy for those like me who are hesitating whether to buy or not the Premiere Lifetime...

Nothing wrong in a good deal once in a while and people in general know that Black Friday is coming.

If you want to complain about prices and such then there's the game industry.

Equally, the vendor must judge whether the extra sales from reduced price will make up for the loss of revenue from each sale.  You can't assume that any seller will always give a discount out of the kindness of their heart, which is rather what threads like this seem to be assuming.

looks like not everyone's thrilled about Black Friday deals. Here's my take: retailers should really plan their pricing with Black Friday in mind from the start. Like, if they sell at full price other times, that 20-30% extra is just a bonus. And for self-hosted media stuff, which isn't exactly huge market-wise, these discounts can be pretty smart for marketing. You might even get some press coverage out of it!  Black Friday sales, why not?

Well, when you live in Japan and now everything is 50% higher thanks to currency exchange, that BFD is not a want, is a need.

I finally bought Lifetime Premiere after using Emby for about 5 years

I have Jellyfin and Plex both installed but I liked the dropdown for the cast in Emby and I like that it lists more of my TV shows to continue watching than Jellyfin

 

Hopefully I can get Trakt working in Emby (Still won't accept the Pin) and get tending and recommended movies and TV shows like Plex eventually
