Now Playing / Activity for users is flashing

Recently, when someone is streaming, their activity will "flash" in the dashboard. By this, I mean that it will display "Now Playing" and the correct video info for a second or two, then blank back to "Activity," then back to "Now Playing" over and over until they finish the show. The attached screenshot is an example of the two states it flips between. Video playback for the user is not affected at all.

Sometimes, when they play two things in a row, the first video -- even though it is finished -- gets stuck in "Now Playing." In that case, it will flash between the first video and the second in the "Now Playing" display.

This flashing can be seen in both Chrome on Windows, and on the Android client.

I'm on 4.8.10.0, but this doesn't appear to be related to an update, as I've been on this version for months and the issue just started one week ago out of the blue. Rebooting the server hasn't helped -- not sure what else to try. Anyone else seen this?

Oddly, another reboot of the server has seemingly fixed this. My only guess is one of the plugins I have installed somehow interfered with this, but has been bugfixed recently.
