Hello Luke

Any news, as i am still not able to connect.

I am using emby server only in my internal network with http on my windows pc and app on several android devices. All are working without any issue except tihis phillips tv can not find the server.

Also is the pop up keyboard not showing up.

Please help

Regards Jürg

Right based on what the other user said, it sounds like you may have to use your remote address. Have you setup remote access for your server?

No

Is that something you can do?

Can i do that without making the server accessible from the internet and without https?

Hi @Luke.

Today, i tried various scenarios at home, such as local DNS name with different combinations (hp-server:8096, intranet.local:8096 etc), and emby cannot connect to the server even using the local DNS A record. Connection is only possible using remote DDNS or remote IP (It's not a problem for me, but it may be for others). It seems that something is blocking communication only over the LAN network.

Hi.  I can definitely see how the TV itself may do that as a security measure.

They let me know they're going to do some testing and they'll get back to me.

Are you able to access your server when actually remote?  IOW is the port forwarding, etc. setup properly?

Does your router allow loopback?

Yes as I explained in my previous post everything works as expected on all other devices internally and externally it’s just this titan os tv that won’t connect

For me local ip address still doesnt work but wan address works the only problem with wan is that it change itself every 24h so it become pain in the a.. everyday to setup emby on philips tv. While we are on that subject how about you add edit buton to change only ip instead to do forget this server and settup a new one from scratch.

Got this from them:

We've analyzed and, rectifying our last answer regarding importing, playing or opening HTTP contents in HTTPS domains (Mixed Content) is currently a limitation.

So answering your question, it's currently not supported. This is a known issue and we've recently added this to our roadmap and it's estimated to be the Q1 of 2026.

So it looks like you will need an https server url for now.

Dennis

You'd have to first setup https on your emby server.

There are many ways to get an SSL certificate. Some are mentioned here:

I have the same issue.

Just tested the the connection to the remote ip as well, (I am able to access the server outside of my home) but it does not work. I have reverse proxy infront of the ebmy server and there is ssl certificate. So in general, I can access the emby server directly or through this reverse proxy for outside connections. However, it does not work with my TitanOS TV.

Are the developers have working emby environment on their TitanOS? If nobody is able to access it, why it is released? I am afraid to think about the problems that we are going to face after we get access to our servers via TitanOS...

Is there any working solution so far?

HI, currently you have to use an https address, and your certificate has to be something that TitanOS trusts. Since this is all very new, I don't even know if they've documented what certificates are accepted but I'll ask them.

LetsEncrypt works for me, but need a physical keyboard attached to the TV to type in manuel server address.

Which part are you asking about?

Yes.

Yes, remote does not bring up the keyboard on screen.

Seeing the same as here.

Even with https enabled via reverse proxy, it does not show the on screen keyboard.

And how would it know if use http or https if I can't type in the dns / IP address?

Same here also use reverse proxy, works on all my other devices internal and externally just not this titan os tv

I am using reverse proxy with domain and ISRG Root X1 certificate (from Let's Encrypt). It works internally and externally just not from my TitanOS TV. I've tested on port 443 and 8920. So, may be the problem is not the certificate itself, but something else?

Is there anyone who have Emby on TitanOS and it works? Or their developers just told us that it should work, but actually it is not?

If there is someone with working setup, can we get the details about the configuration that really works?

@LukeCan you ask them about some guide, not for all of the scenarios, but at least for one single working solution - certificate issuer vendor, reverse proxy vendor (or w/o RP), internal access setup, external access port forwarding or NAT or DMZ? Something that we can reproduce?

I am using tv box with emby for this TV, so it is not big problem for me, but I would like to know what is going on :)

Can you share more details about your setup? Where is your emby server installed - windows, linux, nas server? Let's encrypt cert is installed on the emby server directly and this server have public ip that you are accessing or it is server with internal ip but in that case how you install the cert with the public domain - I think they does not issue the certs for private domains?

Can you please share more info?

Well I'm using unRaid and running everything in docker.

Reverse Proxy - Nginx-Proxy-Manager-Official - LetsEncrypt with my own domain.

Network all Unifi controlled via Unifi network application docker ( all selfhosted on a different host ) just after my ISP modem in bridge mode.

Emby docker using the official docker.

Hello Luke

This is already taking a very long time already is very frustrating for me. As maybe others users i do like just to connect to my local embx server within my local network.

I am not y nework person and i just stoped to try getting https up an running. I had no luck at all. I have have (had to) startup again the Plex Server an that is working at least. I was switching from plex to emby because emby was much more easy and nice to use and anderstand then plex.

Hope this issue will be fixed soon and i can use emby on this stupid titan os again.

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all of you and your family
