Emby freezing, but only with animes

Greetings,

I have a problem where emby seems to lag out or freeze up, but only when I am playing anime series episodes. It doesn't do it on any other tv series episode. I wouldn't care...but sometimes it makes me turn my TV off entirely...sometimes I can back out of the emby app on the tv, but other times not.

Example of current series I am watching that does this: Video codec is 1080p HEVC, audio is english acc stereo and subtitles - english ass

Nothing special or weird as far as I can tell. 

How can I troubleshoot this problem to understand better what the problem even is?

Providing a log (see Luke's link) would give us something to look at to see what's happening.

When this happens,  which type of subtitles does the anime you are watching have: ASS, PGS, or SRT?  Do shows with these different types of sub behave differently?  If you play an episode with no subs selected does the problem still show?  Do you ever watch non-anime shows with subtitles on?
