keithwalker80 6 Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 Hello: I am having an issue with a series card housing an entire folder of media that does not belong to the show. I will include screenshots to assist. I have tried rescanning the metadata, creating a new folder and moving the media to it, rebuilding the library DB based on the corrupt DB troubleshooting, uninstalling the server and reinstalling it. Can someone please direct me on how to fix this issue? The screenshots are of the card in question, the file path it shows when I click on "Edit Metadata", the different series that show within the series card and the file path of that specific show as to where it actually lives. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

What he suggested should definitely resolve it.

Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 May need to add Series Year to every folder also but as mentioned the entire folder tree is needed as there are dozens of topics where Emby goes rogue making wrong folder level a Series/Show in a NESTED environment. So folder structure and even naming schemes can cause issues here. Use to be all the shows with numbers in their names. But unfortunately, you may have to systematically add 5-10 titles to the folder at a time to see what ones actually break the nested folder.

There certainly were issues in such/similar scenarios, sometimes requiring complete database rebuilt, though it should've been addressed in 4.8.9.0 as I understood it: Spoiler 4.8.9.0 Fix database error when removing libraries with overlapping paths with other libraries Since this is a single library in question, I doubt anyone can give exact answer but I reckon there's a considerable chance system will sort itself out (though that setup, adding both root folder and nested folders to the same library should not have had happened in the first place).

Yep, that's the answer. You have basically defined everything twice. You pointed the library to a parent folder AND all its children.

Being that it is the parent folder, maybe the child files should be removed? I have added the parent file back and I am waiting for the library to rebuild. I will remove the child folders one at a time if the library rebuild does not solve the issue.

I have not had this kind of issue since I started using Emby. I am not sure why it would only affect 1 library and point it to one show.

That was the intention, remove parent folder and leave children folders only; you probably should've waited for scan to finish as in complex folder structure it is recommended to add subfolders as library paths instead of root folder: Quote Complex Folder Structure In more complex situations where your top-level directory is further sub-divided before the show folders, the recommended option is to create a TV media folder and add the sub-folder locations instead of the top level folder. What finally did work was me completely deleting the existing "TV Shows" library and recreating it from the ground up. Now I no longer have the issue. Thanks to all who attempted to assist. 2
