primecut 20 Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 (edited) Hi there, I am currently trying to tidy up some metadata for my libraries and was wondering where emby takes its age ratings from. I had assumed it uses MovieDB since I cant find any series-level age rating option on tvdb but for whatever reason emby sometimes doesn't grab the german rating but defaults to the US one. Library is set completely to german. Example where this is happening: Cobra Kai Edited November 18, 2024 by primecut
Solution Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 18, 2024 Solution Posted November 18, 2024 TVDB to my knowledge only applies to episode level now. or to say they only display at episode level per their website. But the api still returns a content rating at series level as shown in the series.json in the cache folder. Don't see any language translated ratings via the TVDB api only overview/descriptions same as changing language on there web page.
primecut 20 Posted November 18, 2024 Author Posted November 18, 2024 Thanks for digging into it. I was hoping it would take the moviedb rating since those are easier to add and tvdb likes to lock editing at some point. But knowing that tvdb reports (some) episode rating as series rating at least tells me what I have to add on the website. Thanks again.
