nospotify 184 Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 Within Music library, navigating to a genre and then pressing the Shuffle button correctly queues in a seemingly random order all the tracks in all the albums tagged with the genre. But for some reason playback begins at a track far down from the top of the newly-generated playback queue, which means the queue quickly reaches the end and stops. How can this be fixed so a shuffle-generated queue begins playback at the top of the queue? Client: Android 3.4.20 Server: 4.8.10.0
Luke 42078 Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Hi there, can you please provide a specific example? Thanks.
nospotify 184 Posted November 18, 2024 Author Posted November 18, 2024 Log file attached. You will see from the also-attached screenshot, that immediately after pressing the shuffle button on the genre Americana, playback began with a file that is scores of screens below the top. I then manually scrolled all the way to the top to start playing what should have been the first music file, so that should be indicated in the log file as well. Please take a look and let me know what's going on and how to fix it. Thanks. embyserver-log.txt

Thanks ! Whoa - now it siezes up entirely and crashes the server. I have a lot of albums/tracks on many genres, but this shouldn't happen. SERVER is crashed, based on trying to get to it from several different Android devices running latest android Emby app, AND same when trying to reach Emby server from Web browser even on the server machine itself. Can't even restart the Emby server without having to reboot the entire computer. Edited February 5, 2025 by nospotify

nospotify 184 Posted February 5, 2025 Author Posted February 5, 2025 (edited) @LukeIt's really broken. Genre shuffle works fine on Web interface. But on any of several Android devices it literally crashes the Emby server (running on Windows), and it requires manual Task Manager "end task" to reboot it. (Neither "restart server" nor "exit" from the Emby taskbar icon actually accomplish that.) Emby Android app 3.4.36, Emby Windows server 4.8.10.0. Latest log file showing all this is attached. Please fix this. embyserver.txt embyserver-63874345396.txt Edited February 5, 2025 by nospotify
