Issue with rearranging items in the play queue during play

I came across the following issue (at least for me it is an issue) with the Android app. When I have an active session and a number of songs are in the play queue, it is hard to rearrange the items. Let's say I want to move the last item 20 places up. I can touch the "handle" (the two horizontal lines) and the item is "picked up". However, in most of the cases, it is not possible to move the item up or down. Instead, I am just scrolling through the list as if I did not pick up an item. In rare cases (I think exact timing is very important), I can pick the item up and actually move it around, but only within the items that are currently shown. When I move the item to the very top, the list does not begin to scroll to allow me to move it further up. I hope I was able to explain what I mean. This occurs on a mobile phone (Galaxy S21), a Tablet (Pixel Tablet) and in ChromeOS (with touchscreen). When I try to move the items with the mouse in ChromeOS, I achieve what I want.

I installed the latest version from Google Play (3.4.20) and the server is on version 4.8.10.0.
