TigerBeanst 4 Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 (edited) My example might be a bit strange... When I'm not at home, my phone keeps running Tailscale, which means that for Emby, I still appear to be on the LAN network (even though I'm using my DDNS domain when adding the server in the Android app). However, my Tailscale doesn't always manage to establish a successful direct connection, so I often end up routing through Tailscale's derp nodes when playing Emby videos, and the speed is insufficient for smooth playback. I'm wondering if I can set the Android app to stop automatically detecting whether I'm on the local network and instead just to connect using the domain and port I added for the server without any changes? This means that if I add the Emby server using a LAN IP, it will always connect via the LAN; if I add a domain name, it will also always use that domain name to connect (and will no longer attempt to determine if I am on the LAN to use the LAN IP for the connection).
