Gerry941 3 Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 I and my wife have spent the last hour trying to reset my password. We have fulfilled all the necessary requirements yet still I'm unable to sign into my account. At one time the message was " Do you want to translate from Russian into English? I'll try again tomorrow but at the moment I just want the last 2 hours back!! Is there a problem somewhere? Please don't say we are both inept.
Luke 42077 Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 HI there, what exactly happens when you try to reset your password?
Gerry941 3 Posted November 12, 2024 Author Posted November 12, 2024 Thank you for taking an interest The response is - " invalid user name or password". While I can understand the occasional mistake - but two of us & using a variety of valid passwords and then constantly resetting them strikes me as "as a bit odd". I've been user of Emby for many years but have never met this problem with Emby before.
ebr 16169 Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 Hi. Exactly what password are you trying to reset? You are logged in here and that would be the same credentials as Emby Connect if that's what you are trying to do.

We're trying to log in and use Emby in a response to the selecting the wanted server from a variety of possible servers which no longer in use e,g laptop and an old PC. In the displayed menu there are a numerous of servers offered. The only addition is my son's DS418PLAY recently added and called "Miserver". I'm not selecting that but my own labelled .).o matter what password I choose to use. I then select DS418PLAY and am asked to create a password. It is from this pont onward I am met with failure despite ensuring we ( wife & I) adhere to the password requirements The problem originated when I connected my son's DS418PLAY into the router. This entailed me moving my own DS418PLAY's ethernet cable to another port on the router. My DS 418 server contains important documents, all my music and home -made family videos. Any suggestions would welcome as you've helped in past Nothing has really changed since then - other than I'm a lot older and senility is not far off!

That will help declutter the screen for you so that won't have to see them anymore.
Gerry941 3 Posted November 17, 2024 Author Posted November 17, 2024 Thank you I've now removed the redundant servers using the suggested method. But I'm still unable to sign in. As is common many services Emby requires a password and as I've been using Emby for many years ( it really is excellent) I've forgotten the password. While it offers a password retrieval I'm afraid it is not helpful in that the instruction file has been sent to my server- a DS418PLAY. Believe me for the uninitiated this is a nightmare to negotiate!! Try as I might I have no idea where the instruction file might be, there so many files and sections it could be anywhere, As such I still can't access Emby. Any ideas?
Gerry941 3 Posted November 21, 2024 Author Posted November 21, 2024 Problem solved - by son; he is in Nicaragua but clearly has more nous than me! What he has done ( even remotely!) I don't know but it's given me access 1 1
