bjerne 20 Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 (edited) In particular I'm missing the option to manually start a download when, for who knows what reason, Emby will only download 2 out of 8 TV show episodes, the rest showing merely as "ready to transfer" in Downloads -> Manage Downloads. bjerne 20 Posted November 3, 2024 Author Posted November 3, 2024 I've also recently purchased Emby premiere and would have to agree with @Captest that the failure to fix what is essentially a broken download and transcode feature after such a long time is indeed disappointing. Can we please have an ETA on getting this sorted out? 1
Luke 42079 Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 Hi @bjernecan you please describe in mode detail what exactly you're referring to? How to Report a Problem Thanks !

bjerne 20 Posted November 13, 2024 Author Posted November 13, 2024 (edited) Umm what happened to the original post to which I replied? In that post, the problems with download functionality were quite clearly laid out, and confirmed between multiple users. But I really hope you are well aware that the download feature is currently very flaky, to the point of being broken. Downloads will either not complete or not start at all, and as a user, I am given almost no visibility into what is actually going on. I don't know if our matters, but this new post you've put together for me has been misplaced, since I'm on Linux, not Windows. Edited November 13, 2024 by bjerne
bjerne 20 Posted November 13, 2024 Author Posted November 13, 2024 And yes, I'm on latest emby server version 4.8.10.0
bjerne 20 Posted November 13, 2024 Author Posted November 13, 2024 Here is a fresh example of the bugginess of downloads. I just started download of a handful of TV show episodes, and while this time was more successful than previous attempts, two of the videos are still getting stuck in state "ready to transfer". Let me know if you need me to carry out additional testing. 1
RanmaCanada 495 Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 I agree the download option is basically useless as downloads just get stuck and never ever transfer. 1
rbjtech 5284 Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 (edited) Hmm, I've never had any issues in this area - it used to be a little flaky, but for me it's now solid. (Server>Windows and Client>Android) In the Client - has it been set to only Download on Wi-Fi ? Did you set a temp folder ? Does it have rights/room for the temp files ? (worth doing, as you can then see file activity in that folder) Is there a schedule for the transfer in the Dashboard - I'm not 100% if this is used for original quality transfers or just conversions - but worth checking it has run. Just re-tested it - appears to work ok. The 80% transfer is partially completed as that user went out of wifi range during a transfer - I *think* it will resume when they reconnect to my wifi. They are back today, so I'll confirm. Edited November 15, 2024 by rbjtech 1
Lessaj 467 Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 It is seemingly hit or miss. One of my friends recently attempted to download a season of a show for their vacation, every episode was converted to 4 Mbps prior to transferring and every episode went through except the first episode. Trying another download job of just that episode never transferred either, it's still sitting there ready and it's been several days. Seems like the issue happens on the client side, like it's recorded that it's already downloaded the file and won't try again. 1 1
