Hello

My name is Rich

I want to know do tv show trailers show up before movies or they don't & there is no point me having them, i have them in trailers folder beside season folders.

Also when i can afford to go premiere my understanding is trailers will be done automatically through streaming will there be an option to use my local trailers instead & if so will it be possible to have say some movies done automatically & some movies use local trailers . a setting when adding new library to say use local trailers or auto trailers or something like that

does emby edit my info file for movie & add links to trailers in the background as i use tinymediamanager  for trailers & it could be that i have just missed some with so many trailers i have been going through but the odd time it feels like links to trailers have reappeared & just want to rule out emby

Than You

Hi @rcsnoopdogif you have trailers at the series level, you'll see a Trailer  button on the series screen. The same goes for Seasons and Episodes.

Does this answer your question?

If you have moviedb metadata enabled, and you enabled nfo saving in your library options, then yes, you may see trailer urls being added to your nfo files. Usually they will be youtube urls.

I worded my question wrong, i mean when i have a couple of trailers show up before watching a movie will tv trailers show up there along with movie trailers and also is there an option to have trailers of other tv shows show up before a tv show gets first played ?

Hi @rcsnoopdogthe answer is yes to both, although most of the current trailers that we have are movies.

Have you checked out Cinema Intros?

Cinema Intros

Where is the option to have trailers of other tv shows show up before a tv show gets first played as i have it now no trailers show up before i start a tv show ?

Thanks

Did you enable the Episodes option in the plugin?

But not sure if limited to TV trailers as there is no source for TV trailers beside manually getting.

@Lukethere is really no filter to limit TV to TV trailers correct?

Not looking for cinema intros as i don't use them just want tv trailers before the the very first episode of a tv show but not any of the other episodes, just the first s01e01, Luke has given me the an answer which implies that emby does do this and i want to know if so where are the settings to turn it on as i don't get any tv trailers before the first episode ?

Not that I am aware of as it applies to all episodes not just the first one of any given show.  Also, Emby does not play trailers before anything unless you configure the Cinema Intros plugin to do so.  But I don't believe TV is limited to TV either but Luke will have to comment on that.

You have to have another plugin then as no trailers will play by default before any media without it.

Would need to see a server log as I believe the other plugin is VantagePoint.

Emby can do this....with the Cinema Intros feature. But it is a mix of all trailers and there is currently no way to single out TV only trailers.

When you say it can do this does that mean a trailer for just the first episode or is it a trailer for all episodes as that would drive me nuts but if a trailer appeared when i start a tv show that would be great

Having the option to just have tv trailers for just  tv shows would be a great option for future if it is possible.

Thanks

Currently if you enable it for episodes then it would be for all episodes. But only the first one in your play queue during any given play session. So for example if you press play on the series, you may get a trailer but then only episodes after that.

1. Where do you enable it for episodes ?

2. how does emby decide which trailer to play or is it just random ?

3. On a separate note if i get all metadata for my tv shows from Tinymediamanager does emby then change it  as i have been getting trailers for my tv shows & it seems like a lot of metadata is missing and i can't remember if i missed adding all metadata or some has been removed by Emby as i thought i had this all done ( all metadata included  except trailers ) but Tinymediamanager has me back adding metadata again. Hope that made sense

It's a combination of your cinema intros settings, looking for similar content to what you're playing, and also randomization.

Emby won't change data from pre-existing nfo files. It will only add to it by looking for data that is missing.

Maybe a stupid question but would you have any idea what would have removed metadata from NFO files as i have now moved over to another tv folder and it has all the ratings missing for tv shows in folder and original title for episodes which i am sure i had done, other bits of metadata seems to be okay but there could be other parts missing , that's 3 folders in a row where i am having to scrape  again with Tinymediamanager & i probably  have about 80 tv shows in each folder which takes a very long time scraping again with TMM. Just in case you may have heard of this predicament from someone else as i don't want to have to do it again after i am done with this. I also have plex running with these folders

We'd have to look at a specific example in detail in order to answer about what might have happened. Thanks.
