Emby for WebOS Multiple Audio Tracks Problem

Recommended Posts

Posted

In some videos with multiple audio tracks, Emby for WebOS sometimes gets confused and plays a different audio track to the one selected, even though the name of the audio track is correct in the WebOS app view.

As for an example. In the attachment, the audio selected is English, but Emby is playing Portuguese (the one above on the audio track list).

If I play the same file in VLC, everything works as expected.

I've seen this issue on the forum, but I haven't found a definitive solution. I apologise if I haven't been able to find the answer.

I tried changing some details directly on the video using mkvtoolnix, but the result was the same.

The TV's software version is 03.41.00.  @SamES

Does anyone know anything about it?

Can you please post the media info for this file so that I can see all the audio streams?  Please attach any ffmpeg and server logs for this test.

And the debug log.

I can't see any obvious issues.

Do you have the full server log that this debug came from?

Are you able to send me the video file for testing? A link to it on Dropbox or any other sharing service via PM is best.

I've the same issue on 2 different LG tvs (C2 and B3 series). No issues on all other platforms (tested on chromecast/web app/emby theater/samsung/fire stick/shield)

Hi, this should be improved in the next update to Emby for LG. Thanks.

I was able to get around this problem. The issue is related to the way some software assembles the internal IDs that exist to identify all the video components. As you already know, WebOS has a bug with this.

I used MKVToolNix v89.0 64bit to reorder the audio tracks. That solved the problem for me.

Here's what you need to do:

  • Open your video in MkvtoolNix.
  • Your tracks MUST be reordered to create new IDs.
  • The default audio track should be the first in the list of available audio tracks.
  • Also, make sure you select ONLY ONE default audio track.
  • Configure MKVToolNix as in the attached images.

After doing this process, the audio selection started working correctly on LG WebOS. It may be useful to add commentary to the audio track (I did).

If you have problems selecting subtitles (it didn't happen to me, but I did it anyway), use the same process.

This is fixed in the next release, but as a test, in another file with this same problem, have a look at all the audio tracks using MkvToolnix Header editor.  Edit the track data so that only the first audio track is marked as default.  Ensure you save and then try playing the file.

The issue is because the track marked 'default' is not the first track and the LG TV reorders the tracks and messes up the logic for us to select tracks.
