Thank you all for checking, hopefully you can fix it.

I don't understand programming, but is it very complicated to make emby use BDinfo to extract audio and subtitle information? It would just be a matter of reading the information, it doesn't even need to get the bitrate.

I don't have any BDMV to test with.

@Happy2PlayTry the 3rd command again but leave everything off after language. Doubt it will make a difference, but curious.
ffprobe -i "E:\Media\Movies - nfo\Beetlejuice.Beetlejuice.2024.MULTi.COMPLETE.BLURAY\BDMV\PLAYLIST\00800.mpls"  -show_entries stream_tags=language

@LukeThat's interesting as Happy2Play posted the results he got running BDInfo on his BDMV and the language of tracks showed up. I wonder what may be different using the exe vs the library?

ffmpeg/ffprobe just can't read the information correctly.  But couldn't get anything targeting the mpls.

and you can't use BDinfo directly, which is precisely what it's for? I was testing yesterday and in Kodi and Plex it shows the audio tags and subtitles of BDMV structures perfectly, I imagine they use BDinfo.

@Happy2Play  Thank you very much for the tests you are carrying out.

Does anyone know if the information for tacks in the media file is available to modify via Emby's API?

We do use BdInfo, and normally for most titles it is able to find the languages.

I have about 300 titles in BDMV format and in none of them do I detect the language tags.

OK please try refreshing the metadata on one of these and then attach the emby server log. Thanks.

  • Thanks 1
