Iquaba 0 Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 I got a new iPhone 16 Pro and now some of my videos are not playing correctly. The error is Playback Error, no compatible streams available The weird thing is that the same videos work on my older phones, computer, TV and everywhere else. Nothing changed about my server. Any thoughts about what might be happening or what I can try to fix it?
Luke 42077 Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

Neminem 1518 Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 (edited) Try setting a higher bitrate in the client app. auto settings is a pita, and defaults to 4 mbit. So with this media file you need to set it to 13 mbit Edited November 14, 2024 by Neminem
Luke 42077 Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 @Iquabahas this helped? It appears you may have set a really low quality setting in the client app.
Iquaba 0 Posted November 17, 2024 Author Posted November 17, 2024 (edited) Both the iPhone 12 (working) and the 16 (not working) have the default playback settings in the app. I discovered that when I disconnect from my home network and connect externally via Tailscale, playback starts working on the 16 No matter what playback settings I’ve tried, I still can’t seem to get some videos to playback on the 16 even though they work everywhere else Are these the settings I should be messing with? I’ve tried setting all three to 144p, 10 Mbps, and 200 Mbps Edited November 17, 2024 by Iquaba
Luke 42077 Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 OK. Is there anything in common about the files that this is happening with?
